Hello! I am Marielle Hankerson. I am a freshman majoring in Spanish and Urban and Regional Studies with a minor in Latin American Studies. I am from Virginia Beach. I am a member of Latinx Student Association at VCU, and I participated in Ram Camp. I love spending my free time with friends and family, or watching late ‘90s and early 2000’s rom coms. My favorite book is The Alchemist, but I enjoy any books that focus on a historical event. I am so excited to be here at VCU, and I can’t wait to help make the World Studies Media Center the best that it can be!

Hi, my name is Kymberly Hall. I am currently a freshman who’s majoring in International Studies with a Concentration in Social Justice. I am originally from Chesapeake, Virginia. I am a part of the GLOBE program here at VCU, the RAM CAMP experience, and a lab assistant at the World Studies Media Center. I have a passion for literature, culture, and cooking, and spend most of my free time either learning new recipes or watching movies (nothing can beat a classic Marvel movie!) After college, I have the hopes of taking the steps in becoming a Foreign Officer for the United Nations after spending a year within the Peace Corps. I am excited for the future and all that VCU has to offer, and starting off in the World Studies Media Center was all I could hope for!

Hi! My name is Ashley Parra and I am currently a freshman here at VCU. As of now I am undeclared, but I am planning on majoring in Social work and minoring in Spanish. I am born and raised in Arlington, VA. I am a part of the Latinx student Association here at VCU and I absolutely love Richmond and the city lifestyle, VCU was my first choice because of the diversity and welcoming feeling the campus brings. I enjoy listening to music, being surrounded by friends/family, traveling and playing sports. I love meeting new people and sharing ideas and I believe working here at the World Studies Media Center is a great start!

Hi, my name is Eva Ramirez and I am currently a junior at VCU, I transferred here from NOVA Community College. I’m double majoring in Cinema and International Studies with a concentration in Latin America. I was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia. I work as a lab assistant for the World Studies media center. I am a member of the Latinx Student Association at VCU. I chose VCU because it reminds me of home, surrounded by diversity and city life. I love watching movies and tv shows, I can binge watch all day. I also love trying new things, and going on adventures! Both of my majors connect with the World Studies media center in some way and I believe working here is a fantastic way to start learning new skills that will help me in my future!
