Room 424: Hibbs 424 is a classroom/lab robustly equipped with 35 independent student workstations and a teacher's control console. This space houses Dell Precision T3600 workstations with Intel Quad Core processors, 4 GB of RAM, and full multimedia design and production capabilities. Each station is equipped with a high-quality headset for listening to and recording audio. The instructor's console runs the Tandberg/Sanako Study 1200 electronic language lab. Hibbs 424 also has a Crestron presentation system, media production station, and a network printer for class projects and group activities. This classroom lab is ideal for collaborative learning, multimedia projects, and workshops. Reserve in advance (804-828-2320).
Room 426: Hibbs 426 is a general-purpose lab equipped with 28 Dell Precision T3420 workstations with Intel i7 QuadCore processors, 4 GB of RAM, and multimedia capabilities. This space is ideal for independent or small group study. One instructor machine is connected to a standard projection system. Pay-per-print service is available.
Mobile iPad Lab: A mobile lab consisting of 35 iPad Air 2s and accompanying headsets. Each iPad runs the latest iOS software and contains 32GB storage capacity, a 9.7 inch LED-backlit widescreen Multi-Touch display with a 2048x1236-pixel resolution, an A8X chip with 64-bit architecture, and an M8 motion coprocessor. Each iPad also houses two cameras: a rear-facing 8MP iSight camera whose video recording features include 1080p HD video recording (30fps), video image stabilization, face detection, and 3x video zoom; and a front-facing camera with 720p HD video recording and face detection. Each iPad can last up to 10 hours of use, with the mobile lab also serving as a charging station. The mobile lab is available by advanced reservation only.
